A word about my blog .....

I'm using this blog to keep notes on my life and experiences, plus to keep track of my own recovery from a stroke (December 2006).

For those of you who were not aware, my brother, John, died on February 10, 2010. His remains were cremated and interred at Green Hills Memorial Park.

0807 melona anyone?

I may be stuck at home, but I’m staying in touch with friends thru Facebook. My friends list has 49 people on it. That’s not much compared to others who have hundreds or thousands on theirs. But mine is different. I’ve actually met each person on my list face-to-face at one time or another.

The people on my list are from all chapters in my life history. Some are from high school. Some are from ski trips up north and beyond. Some I’ve skied and partied with locally. Some I’ve met through church. But all of them have touched and shaped my life to what it is today.

One of the fun things on Facebook is the sending and receiving of gifts. These are just graphical representations, but it’s nice to get something without asking.

Like Korean food. I’m learning so much about Korean food that I didn’t know before. My personal exposure is limited to some soju that was given to me a few years ago by a campfire friend. But lately I’ve been given jajangmyun, jambong, and melona. I’ve had to do some searches to figure out what was being sent to me. Did you know that there was a Korean porn star named “Melona”?

Believe it or not, everyone on my Friends list I've met in person too. :) Who woulda thunk that I've known that many people?
