A word about my blog .....

I'm using this blog to keep notes on my life and experiences, plus to keep track of my own recovery from a stroke (December 2006).

For those of you who were not aware, my brother, John, died on February 10, 2010. His remains were cremated and interred at Green Hills Memorial Park.

COMMENTS ARE ENCOURAGED, WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED.

0227 nothing of importance

Nothing of importance happened today. I know it’s my birthday, but this is also my blog, and if I want to gloss over it, so be it.

0221 fun chop

During third service today at SBCC, I sat with Tina. She gave me a small packet, to help with therapy. It contained “Fun Chop”, a small piece of plastic that attaches to the wide end of a set of chopsticks. It purpose is to train oneself in the use of chopsticks as a dining implement, but I’ve found it good for exercising the muscles of my wrist, because it provides a lot of resistance.

One of these days, though, I’ll be using chopsticks again. Ever try helping yourself to dim sum with a fork?

0210 john

My brother, John, died today. He was just three months short of his 52nd birthday.

Last night, his blood pressure started dropping. The nurses at the long-term care facility gave him medication to raise it, but it continued to drop. They called 9-1-1. Paramedics stabilized him and moved him to the ER at Long Beach Community Hospital. A few hours later, his heart stopped beating and they were unable to resuscitate him.

0210 HB2U Sheri!

Today is Sherilyn’s birthday.

Sorry guys, she’s married and she has a son. She’s also the fearless leader of my Koinonia lifegroup. Sheri is a very special person and a Christ follower.

Wherever you are, Happy Birthday, Sheri!

0206 energizer bunny needed

I was planning to attend the SBCC Men’s Ministry’s Super Bowl Saturday BBQ Event, but we had a power outtage at the house, so I stayed home for the day. The power went out around 3am and came back on around 1pm.
