Osam (Jim Y) came by to help with my walking, so we went to Liberty Park. During the week, he spoke with Jenn, my physical therapist, on strategies and targets for us to work on.
One of them was timing. As Jim was putting a stopwatch around his neck, I said that he didn’t have a use for the seconds or anything faster. A sundial will work just as good. He countered that since it was overcast and the other option, carbon dating, would take too long, the fallback plan was the stopwatch.
Since there wasn’t a curb to navigate, I “walked” with the walking sticks from the van. We worked on lengthening my stride and worked on my balance issues. The longer the stride, the more off-balance I feel.
We worked for about an hour before breaking for lunch. We headed over to a nearby Subway. Jim ordered a Cheddar & Bacon Sandwich. The girl on the other side of the counter asked, “What kind of cheese do you want with that?”
Let me know if you can explain that one.
A word about my blog .....
I'm using this blog to keep notes on my life and experiences, plus to keep track of my own recovery from a stroke (December 2006).
For those of you who were not aware, my brother, John, died on February 10, 2010. His remains were cremated and interred at Green Hills Memorial Park.
COMMENTS ARE ENCOURAGED, WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED.
