Today is President’s Day. It’s supposed to be a day for celebrating the birthdays of U.S. Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. So why were schools out last Monday for Lincoln’s birthday? I’m getting really confused.Since it doesn’t seem to matter anymore, I’ll celebrate today in honor of the eighteenth President of the U.S., Ulysses S. Grant, for no other reason than my elementary school was named after him. He was a successful General, but a lousy President, even though he was re-elected to a second term in 1872.
One visitor to the White House noted “a puzzled pathos, as of a man with a problem before him of which he does not understand the terms.” Sound familiar?
A YEAR AGO TODAY: It was a Sunday, so no therapies were scheduled. Visitors from church were Mike & Carol, Judy, and Lillian Y.
